Deborah Lee
Paediatric Speech-Language Therapist
Deborah is an Australian-trained Speech-Language Therapist and is fully registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore (Registration No. A1800028J). She has extensive experience working in the Paediatric setting, providing early intervention for children as young as 18 months old with Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN). She specialises in working with children with conditions such as Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning difficulties.
Having worked at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Deborah has a trove of knowledge on administering assessments and providing diagnosis for language and/or speech delays and disorders, fluency, play skills, pre-verbal skills and social communication disorders. She believes in closely monitoring outcomes to ensure effective treatment for her clients.
Deborah has extensive experience carrying out transdisciplinary practices for non-verbal children who have ASD traits and facilitating group therapy sessions for her clients, such as social communication and play groups. She has worked collaboratively with other healthcare professionals such as doctors, occupational therapists and psychologists to provide comprehensive interventions for children and their families.
Deborah is dedicated to providing family-centered interventions, firmly believing in the importance of working closely with both children and their caregivers. She emphasizes the empowerment and education of caregivers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to support their children's development effectively. With extensive experience in delivering both face-to-face and online training workshops, Deborah is well-equipped to support and coach parents and caregivers in nurturing their children’s growth.
In recognition of her professionalism and quality service to families, Deborah is a proud recipient of the KKH Service from the Heart Award. She is also a clinical educator with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
Outside of work, Deborah is a wife, and a parent to one young daughter. In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time with her family, and watching her daughter grow up.
