Lynette Tan
Clinical Psychologist
Lynette is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults, in both public and private settings in Australia and Singapore. She completed her postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology in Perth, Western Australia. She is registered with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Reg no: PSY0001727618) as well as the Singapore Psychological Society (Reg no: 2007003).
Having previously spent six years as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the Child Guidance Clinic (CGC) of the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Lynette has extensive experience providing psychotherapy for children and adolescents facing emotional or behavioural challenges. She was part of the Mood and Anxiety Clinic, a multidisciplinary team which specializes in comprehensive assessment, treatment and intervention for children and adolescents struggling with mood, anxiety, and other related emotional conditions.
Lynette is experienced in working collaboratively with parents and caregivers to support children and adolescents’ emotional needs. As a registered facilitator of the Circle of Security program, she conducts individual and group psychotherapy for parents looking to foster secure relationships with their children. She also draws upon attachment based approaches in her practice to help adult clients better understand their attachment styles and improve on their relationships with their loved ones.
Apart from psychotherapy services, she was actively involved in providing consultations and training on mental health issues with schools and social welfare agencies. She has also provided clinical supervision for junior psychologists and is also an associate lecturer at Kaplan Singapore.
Recognising the need to feel safe in therapy, she is committed to creating a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to freely share their experiences and receive the support they need to navigate their way through difficult times.
When not conducting therapy, Lynette is a musical theatre enthusiast, a loving wife, and a proud bunny parent of a very anxious netherland dwarf.
